How to get pigeons out of a wall

Birds may want to be outside most of the time, but when looking for shelter, they aren't very picky, and a wall will do just as well as an open barn loft. First, make sure you are really dealing with pigeons in your wall. There are a number of other nuisance animals that love to live in the walls of a home, and some of these other animals aren't removed in the same manner as pigeons. If you are dealing with pigeons, your first goal is to identify where the holes are that the birds are using to get inside. The good news is that they will want to leave at some point; unlike mice, birds don't get in your walls and stay there. They have things in the outside world they need to do. Now, keep an eye on when the pigeons are leaving. If you have a mated pair inside the wall, they may not leave at the same time. You can either wait the birds out and try to seal up the wall while they are gone, or you can install a one-way funnel system. This lets the birds out in their own time and won't let them back inside.
